For unique family fun, relive Canadas pioneer heritage by joining in a traditional horse-drawn covered wagon adventure. Travel into a simpler time, where hoof beats and the jingle of harness pace the days journey, and the days panoramic landscape rolls by. Pauses along the way offer opportunities to explore wildflowers meadows, varied terrain and vegetation, including medicinal herbs that the Riding Mountain area is famous for. |
| Riding Mountain National Park is a unique sanctuary in the heart of the continent, where prairies, northern spruce woods and eastern hardwood forests meet. The largest elk and black bear roam here. Other mammals you may spot include wolves, coyotes, foxes, beaver, bobcats and muskrats. In the sky you might spot marsh hawks, red-tailed hawks and eagles, as well as hundreds of songbird species. The waterproof canvas wagon cover offers protection from rain and sun as you ride along. |

| Enjoy tasty Bar-be-que buffet meals. Its amazing how much appetites improvein the fresh air all day. Relive the past in stories and campfire songs, should yours be an overnight tour. This year, we offer three choices for wagon tour vacations. All offer the hands-on experience of hitching and handling heavy horses, and even driving for those who wish to learn how its done. Routes are planned for Clear Lakes west prairies, day tours at Strathclair and Central trails, with trailhead beginning at the north end of the bison range. |
